Nice cameras, if they could only talk about the pictures they took. When digital cameras came into use,
many thought that some great pictures would be lost because one can delete them on the spot. Where
film keeps the image until developed.

I have an almost identical Nettar .. was my father's. The full frame on the right is nice .... I presume that is the Zeiss with the 'uncoupled' rfdr? If so my 2 1/4 'Balda' is a dead ringer .... but certainly not the equivalent quality to the Zeiss. I also have a Zeiss Super Ikonta 531 with the coupled rfdr and a Zeiss-Opton Tessar 3.5 ... its a 2 1/4 x 1 5/8 like the Nettar but post war with a pretty good coated lens.

Correct, uncoupled rangefinder.
For those who don't know what that means:
You look through the viewfinder and see two images of you subject, and use the rangefinder to make them overlap.
Then read the distance off that knob and set the lens manually to that distance depending on what f-stop you need for the light and shutter speed conditions.

Rommel with his Leica; I have a later model lllf and a SM 2.8 collapsible Elmar ... I seem to have misplaced my Field Marshal's baton however :)
He was apparently a very avid photographer with his Leica ... and there is a lot of interest in his (thus far) missing photo's!
