ok who knows about winchester model 43 rifles? i camer across a mint one in 25-20 and never even knew they existed. nice rifle. shoots great. just wondered if i paid to much or what?
i dont have a blue book, what should they be worth?

How's the trigger? My dad gave me his in .22 Hornet after he had his stroke.

When I shot it as a kid I had no trouble, but now that I know about good triggers, the last time I shot my Model 43 I thought I had left the safety on!

There is a plain Jane and a deluxe model with a checkered stock. My dad bought his off a Native guy who had hunted seals with it and went on to shoot numerous blacktail deer with it. It's pretty beat up. I put a scope on. My dad just used iron sights.

Have no clue what they're worth.

I have one in a Hornet.
They are cute little rifle.
Not target class but shoot good.
Trigger is not very good as it is a cheaper made rifle.
I found if you lift the bolt a little the trigger works much nicer.
Not big value but probably in the $350-400 in very good shape.

A friend of mine had a M43 in .218 Bee. It was a deadly little gun out to 150 yds or so. I really liked it. It sure killed a lot of groundhogs!

According to the 2003 Standard Catalog of Firearms a standard M43 in good condition is worth $400 a Special or Deluxe rifle $550. In VG condition add $100. For .25-20 and .32-20 add 50%. For non-factory drilled and tapped scope holes deduct 40%. That's US prices - not sure what Canadian value would be but at least it gives you an idea.
The M43 was made from 1949 to 1957 with about 63,000 sold.
