Hey there y'all first time user and poster here so forgive me if this isn't the right place to post this, I just picked up a WX-MCR receiver set and frankly I'm a bit lost on what to do with it. It's just a stripped upper and lower with no parts and I was wondering If anyone here had bought one of these too and has more experience with this stuff than me. Been looking everywhere online and it's to build an MCR however I can't seem to find any parts for it. I'm a bit new to all of this so any help is appreciated.

I actually find it odd that the stripped receiver set is available given the number of proprietary parts the platform uses. To the most part you are stuck sourcing WK parts from Kodiak or TNA. And since this is a WS knock off there are a couple little things specific to the WS that you can't get from Kodiak. Unless there are bits and pieces readily available for the WS that I'm not aware of.

Not to mention with this platform, regardless of which company is making the parts, you are stuck with OEM parts which quite frankly aren't the highest quality parts made. Plain and simply they are budget rifles made from budget manufactured parts.

By the time you source all the bits and pieces you will have considerably more money invested than you would if you just bought a complete WK or WS rifle. And since all you can get is OEM parts you would essentially have the same damn thing.

I guess the "advantage" of buying this receiver set is that you get to have the "fun" of sourcing all the same parts that the rifle would be made with anyways, plus you get to pay more and assemble it yourself?

Am I missing something? ...

Seems spot on. How is one supposed to get the small proprietary bits?

I don think anyone sells an UPK but parts are available separately from True North Arms

600+ tax for the set if anyone was wondering

Yeah I forget there were a few bits and pieces available from RWA that would help someone piece one of these together. But even then I don't see anything that's going to significantly improve the platform. You would still end up with an unnecessarily expensive budget rifle.

I think you'd be better off waiting it out for one of the new Nodak/PWS 180's that IRG is working on.

Just my .02

Again I'm fairly new to most of this so forgive any naivety and ignorance on my part, I'm fairly certain this is just to build a WS-MCR but just rebranded to WX. I suppose I could just phrase it as "How would I build a WS-MCR and where to find parts for it?" This may have been a blunder on my part but I'd still like to see if there's any chance I can see this build through. Regarding the Nodak 180's RWA's website has Nodak parts kits, would those fit in this or am I going to have to source a number of individual parts from TNA and Kodiak. My first impression was that most of these different rifles have a fair amount of interchangeability between them. I appreciate the insight and help though

Some quick math indicates it would be cheaper to buy a complete ms-mcr rifle as opposed to building one with this kit. Seems like this receiver kit is a solution to a problem that doesn't exist. Unless of course the receiver was priced $300 instead of 6. Or if you're really itching to build vs buy.

XTreme Gun in Winnipeg seems to have them. But who makes the WX? Or is it actually WS licenced to these guys and branded different? $600 a set.

If it from XTreme Gun Center, then it is probably one of his rip offs.
The guy who runs it has made knock off of Dolphin FTR chassis, and sold them at the same price.

I heard from other guys in F Class that he ripped Giraud Tool (I believe it was Giruad) by making/machining his own parts and passing it off as genuine.

I've never dealt with with that store, and I doubt that I ever will.

He was given the go ahead from wolverine as spectre could build enough, i believe he is making 762 uppers now for them as well, super nice guy, I had some problems with my WX-MCR from them and he tried to help but it still ended up going back to wolverine
