What’s everyone that owns a stainless stalker shooting for hunting with deadly accuracy for long range? I have 120gr, 139gr, 140gr and 162gr bullets and so far the I’ve got a good mix on the 120 and 162 but always looking to try better recipes for this rifle specifically. Typically shooting H4831sc lets hear your pet loads!

I had a pair of 7mm RM's together at once upon time.

One was a Browning A-Bolt II ..Stainless Stalker, it had a 26 in bbl that absolutely loved the 140 gr Nosler Partitions over 67 gr of RL22. .. WLRM primers...I shot a 22 pt bull in Rose Blanch NFLD at over 400 yds. Collapsed him on the spot ! Had to pull his legs out from under him to dress him out ! Guide said he never seen nothin like that in his 15 yrs of service ! ; )

Also had a Sako 85 for quite a while But my Sako hated that same 140 gr combo when I tried it after I got my A-Bolt S/S !!
Couldn't do anything with em. It showed a preference for the heavier stuff, sooo, me bein me, I found a couple of real good pet loads with the 160 grainers...Nosler Ballistic Tips and Partitions.
One with 62.5 gr of the same RL-22...and another with the IMR 4831 / 160 gr Nosler combo (same load that my buddy's old A-Bolt 7mm RM loved as well. )
I only took whitetail deer only with that Sako...longest was about 225 yds...same results...raised a cloud of dust when he hit the dirt so fast ! lol

Been 10 yrs or more since I played with 7mm RM's. Kinda miss em !

66gr N165 /Win or Fed brass/Fed mag primer/140gr Hornady/.443" 3 shot group at 100 yrds .........same components but with a 160gr Accubond 61gr of N165 .80"3 shot group. This one does 40" of moose.
61gr of IMR 4350 and the 160gr Accubond shot .439"

A-Bolt II stainless stalker, bedded and after-market trigger springs. H4831sc x 64.0 or 65.0 grains, 160 Accubond or Hornady 162 Interlock. Had great luck with R-P brass (sorted for weight and neck thickness) and Fed 215 primers. I found the 26" barrel really awkward hunting so had my 'smith cut it back to 24", only lost about 60fps. Both bullets deadly on moose, caribou, mulies. 175 Hornady is incredibly accurate, but I've never shot game with it and I've heard it is soft for a heavy 7mm bullet. Case annealing and Redding bushing dies plus Area 419 mandrels made a huge difference in cartridge concentricity and accuracy.

When I had my first 7mm Rem Mag (Rem 700 LSS), I didn't handload for it as it would produce sub-.5MOA groups with Federal Premium 165 gr SGK ammo.

I have just acquired a LH Browning X Bolt All Weather in 7mm Rem Mag. I have picked up the following ammo to try in its to see what it will show a preference for:
- Nosler 150 gr Ballistic Tip ammo
- Federal 155 gr Terminal Ascent ammo
- Federal 160 gr Trophy Bonded Tip ammo
- Nosler 160 gr AccuBond ammo

I have a good supply of both Nosler bullets on hand for developing loads for this rifle, if it shows an affinity for either...although the 160 gr AB would be my preferred bullet.
I am very interested in seeing how the 155 gr TA does, as these bullets are starting to show up in component form. (I have found the 130 gr 6.5 and 136 gr .277 bullets already).
Although, if these prove to be as accurate in this rifle as others have in other cartridge/rifle combos, I may not even try to improve with a handload.

My reloading mentor has often stated that Accurate's MagPro powder is THE powder for the 7mm Rem Mag. I know he preferred the 175 gr bullets from various makers (Partition, TBBC, Grand Slam), but also loaded the 160 gr bullets quite a bit too (AccuBond, Partition, E Tip). He had several good loads for the various 7mm Rem Mags he owned. I do not recall any specific loads for H4831sc though.

I know others have had good results in their rifles with Re-22, IMR7828 and H1000. (Re-22 may not be a good option due to availability, unless you have a bunch on hand).
