X-bolt or Tikka T3x?

Tikkas have better triggers. But browning has long mags so if you reload you can get close to lands. Accuracy in my experience is the same. Both very good. Browning has some better options but that basically comes down to budget. I’d go 30-06. Little more knock down power. You basically have to figure out what feels right in your hands and buy it.

I do like the slide and trigger of the Tikka but the Browning just feels better in my hands.. not sure I'll have a chance to shoot them before I buy. #firstworldproblems!

Do a blind test if you can. Eyes closed, have someone hand you each rifle to hold, cycle and fire. Vote without knowing the brand in advance.

Tikka!

Best bolt in the biz. Before I rebarrelled I could consistently shoot sub moa 5 shot groups at 200 (provided I let the pencil barrel cool). Also way better after market support if you're a tinkerer like me.

Of those two I'd go .308 though 6.5 CM or x55 is more forgiving if you want to shoot longer range IMO.

Have had several Tikkas and they are "that" good, but while I have not owned a Browning x-bolt, I have handled them and they are a nicely finished firearm and also very smooth. I bet they deliver similar performance. Try both (if you know others that own both) and decide for yourself. These days, however, I have become a real fan of the Howa 1500.

They are both nice, I handled both as they both are available in a left hand bolt action. The tikka was always on the list but one of the guys at Reliable suggested I hold the x-bolt and it was really nice. I know a couple guys that shoot tikka’s and love them and a couple that shoot x-bolts that love them. You likely won’t go wrong with either, handle both and decide from there.

Awesome community. Thanks everyone for your replies. Never had such quick response in any forum I've been a member of. Glad I joined!

I’m a Tikka fanboy as well. Excellent guns and very accurate. The only thing here that no one has mentioned is that if you are looking for a “fancy” gun, Browning likely offers more options with different grades of wood on the stock etc. You can get a higher end Browning than a higher end Tikka but if you are looking for a hunting rifle I think Tikka would be a solid choice.
