Hey guys very new and just realized someone might have an answer to a question I've been having... Been hunting with an X-Bolt .308 for 5 seasons now. Love the rifle. Problem is the poly rotary mags, when they get a little grit in them they don't feed cleanly and they're a PITA to get back together when you pull them apart to clean. Is there a tool to reassemble correctly, or a trick to it? Getting that spring hung up correctly when putting the backing plate back on drives me nuts.

Thanks!

Sorry guys been busy with work. So have 2 mags, both same problem. Just because of the poly the grit tends to stick a little more than on a poly mag. The grit just comes from use. I'm usually hunting 20-30 days/year and doing somewhere 5-20 miles/day in the foothills. Grit's going to happen. It's not bad, but like you guys I want a nice smooth load.

I actually tried compressed air, just doesn't seem to clear it well. Should try a higher pressure. I tend to pull the back plate off and clean them out before season every year just to make sure, but man are they a PITA to put back together.

I have had a similar situation. I find I have case lube build up inside then dust and grit sticks to it and you get a sluggish mag. To solve the problem I use wax and grease remover ( I own an auto body shop) spray in a liberal amount, blow with compressed air and your good to go for another year.

Brake cleaner?

Actually never thought about brake cleaner then air, I'll have to give that a shot.

Nobody has an easy way to just reassemble these things though huh?
