Has anyone on here put an X-Five frame on a P320?

I know it can, and has been done in the states. But my question is about magazine compatibility. Sig says that the mags with "Sig Sauer" on the floor plate won't work with the X-Five frame. I assume this is because of the contour of the P320 at the bottom of the grip.

What have you done to get around this? I can't seem to find different floor plate options without getting the 21rd mags that come with the X-Five.

So, I guess my 2 questions are. Where do I get 10 round factory mags that will work, and where do I get the pinned 21rd factory mags?

You can make stock P320 mags function with a little dremmel work to the plastic base plates, or Springer Precision sells their base plates for the stock Canadian 17rd X5 mags separately (Canadian P320 X5's ship with 17rd mags instead of the U.S. 21rd versions).

Sigs P320 competed against Glock for the FBI contract & the US Army contract.
Military accuracy only translates into 3-4" groups at 25 yards if you can hold it steady, unsupported.5-6" are the norm...

Trying to turn a military accuracy pistol into a target/competition pistol by adding a so-called better barrel & different slide is folly!
Its really just a marketing dodge. Try as they may, trying to turn a P320 into an X5 version of Sigs all steel long rail target gun is a major stretch....

What are you taking about? I'm talking about switching out the crappy P320 plastic grip out for the better plastic grip from the P320 X-Five...

I bought two 320s recently, a Romeo equipped one and a 320 X5, the X5 grip is a million times nicer, I was surprised at how much I preferred it.

????? It’s not a “target” pistol. It’s a competition pistol meant for IPSC/3 gun etc.... the difference being its very fast to handle and very accurate for that use. Real “target” pistols are boring as hell. It’s not even close to as fun as action shooting by a long shot, and the X5 metal SiG’s aren’t any good for target shooting either.... and I would bet would have a very hard time keeping up to a P320 X5 on an IPSC course... that’s why no one shoots them....

SIG is selling a new baseplate KIT-MOD-MAG-FLR-PLT-BLK - 798681591862 - FLOOR PLATE, MAGAZINE, FULL SIZE/COMPACT, SNAP, BLK. They appear to be approximately $9 USD each. Getting them would be another question.

Here is a good explanation with pictures: http://www.osagecountyguns.com/blog/news/sig-sauer/sig-p320-p250-magazine-floor-plate-updates/

X-Five is/was the Sig designation for top-of-the-line Target pistols. X-5's on the P226 frames were/are completely upgraded in every aspect above the stsndard P226 pistol. X-6's were just a longer barrel totally target gun.

Look at & survey the prices of Sig X-5's & X6's. Its not just a grip swap.

I don't think you have a clue what you're talking about. They're talking about 320 X5's, totally different gun then the X5. Are you related to Sunray? He said random stuff that make no sense, or had nothing to do with the topic.

So I did this and just modified the mags myself. You just need to Dremel or file out some of the width of the vertical tabs on the magazine base plate. Once you do that, the mags fit into the X-Five frame just fine. Standard size baseplates don't work well with the Maxwell installed though. They just aren't long enough.

Overall, a simple but huge improvement over the stock P320 grip module.
