X S ghost ring sights

I have a 45-70 setup with XS sights, anyone out their using the Weaver tall or low backup Ghost Ring sights on a bolt action?

I have a tall Weaver for a Savage 30/06, haven't used it yet though. Waiting for a front sight ramp to come in the mail.

I have the mauser sight on a small ring Swede in 9.3x62 with the XS striped front post. It's a great combo on this gun.

They offer an aperature with a taller shank that is also threaded for Williams type screw in aperatures. I'm going to get one through Brownells, sometimes the ghost ring is too ghosty.

I have a the Weaver on my wife's Husky .30/06 carbine. That rifle gets regular use and she likes it.
