I'm trying to decide what to do with my collection, i'm thinking of selling my tikka 30-06 and mounting a scope on the cz 858 to replace the deer rifle.... I find it a bit pointless to own an expensive setup that is only used one week out of the year, no matter how sweet it is.
Now i'm wondering, I know 7.62x39 is fine for deer but what about the larger stuff? moose/elk/caribou ect... does it deliver enough energy to cleanly down a beast?
I'd hate to sell the rifle but moneys tight so i'd prefer to use one rifle for more activities... someone convince me I need the 06
