a problem that some have had is the 9mm conversion does not come with a base to accept the factory or aftermarket rail. the factory 223 version has an integral base machined into it but the 9mm does not. maybe a retired machinist would take on a project if you offered him a prime bottle of sipping bourbon. it would be a great but pricy option especially if the X95 were fitted with the geissele aftermarket bits.
You are correct the new x95 barrels have one solid bace for the rail . Older x95s use the same rail bace system as the 9mm conversion that’s why they don’t come with the rail bace units Cus they want you to reuse the ones you have . But since they updated the new x95s without the rail bace units . Who ever buys the x95 9mm conversion won’t be able to re mount the rail .
north Silva Dosint give a #### about it. Iv msg them 100 times to get rail bace mounts and nothing
As stated I am a machinist and made my own rail bace units and I purchased a extra rail for the 9mm kit so keep the 5.56 barrel and 9mm completely assembled with optics so it’s a simple 2 bolts two pins and a barrel swap 3 minutes I can convert between the two calibers and my optics stay zeroed.
The 9mm conversion runs really well not a single failure and it throws the brass 12 feet away . Converted to left hand eject as well simple ejector swap around for the 9mm no extra bolt needed .
I understand that a normal pcc would be cheeper but the 9mm conversion helps keep training cheeper for the x95 platform if that’s what you want to train with .
Worth every penni in my opinion runs really well once you make the rail mounts for your optics rail
Hope this helps someone out great platform
The rails units took a few hours on a mill but not overly complicated. And no I will not make you a set as it’s a pain in the ass people should msg north Silva and complain the kits are not complete as kits Iv seen down south have the extra parts needed .
