Hey gang,

Contemplating picking up an X95 as my first bull pup, but just wondering what owners have to say? Is it really worth the ~$2700 for one of these?

Would love to hear your thoughts on pros and cons if you own one.

Thanks for any input and assistance.

If only there were a few hundred previous threads you could consult..? Yes, they are worth the money if you have the money.

My deepest apologies for posting a thread in your forum which I pay to be a member of... But hey, thank you for your reply.

The build quality, and reliability is definitely there, I have an Israeli-made sample and I consider it to be on par with Colt Canada guns. The only potential issue is ergonomics, because bullpups are quite a different beast compared to the standard AR-15. I enjoy mine but I am tempted to sell because I prefer the ergos I know. The WS-MCR isn't exactly on the same level of build quality as the X95 but I do think about selling the X95 and getting a WS-MCR a lot.

Thanks for that. The ergonomics are a slight concern for me, not sure if I'll enjoy a bull pup but it's something different. I appreciate your perspective, cheers.

"Worth it" is very subjective with any product. Different people have different disposable income and different criteria for evaluating an object.

Is the x95 a very solid rifle? Yes. Can you put thousands of rounds through it with no trouble? Yes.

If you detail strip the x95. It took a lot of engineering to get the platform to this level. Is it worth the price? it is up to you to decide.

I bought the 5.56 version and I liked the quality and functionality so much I bought the 9mm version so I could shoot at the indoor ranger in the winter. I was in the army years ago so I did wonder about ergonomics compared to the C7 but maybe I’ve been out long enough that I forgot the muscle memory drills. I have had no issues adapting to the bullpup platform but to each his own.

It took me three attempts to "get it," bought my first, thought it was weird so sold it, missed it so bought another, repeat. Now they feel very natural and are my favorite option on the market.

I think if you are comparing the x95 to what you used to be able to get for $1000-$1500 in an ar15. No it's not worth it. But that ship has sailed I guess.. there is not a ton of options for high quality rifles of these type in Canada currently. They work good, reliable, reasonably ergonomic. If the money's not an issue I'm not sure if there is a better option available in the price range. It does bother me though even with all the trigger upgrades and modifications to suit me. when I'm at the range I still think to myself I would prefer to be shooting something else.

I paid 3200$ back in the day for my Tavor when the Tavor first came into Canada many, many moons ago. It was worth it then for 3200$ and it's certainly worth the 2700$ they are now.

I had the same concern. I was never a fan of bullpups and the thought of stuffing mags in my armpit wasn't appealing. When I got my X95, it took some getting used to but it certainly wasn't hard or difficult to figure out.

For me, the X95 was 100% worth it.
