xbolt barrel change?

hey i have a x bolt stainless in 22-250. i was wondering if its possible to change the barrel out in these to maybe a .308? any info would be apreciated thanks!

I have a 270 A-bolt and took it to 3 smiths, all said they would not do it. It is possible, but they said something like the receiver is alloy, the barrel steel, and the probability of the receiver cracking when removing the barrel wasnt worth the risk... Whether or not its true, I don't know. But it may be a reason you dont see many (if any at all) custom brownings... If you find one willing to do it, let me know - otherwise I have a fine looking a-bolt that'll collect dust for an eternity.
