What do you guys think? My son is 10. He has a few guns. Most he hasn't shot. I've been saving them for when he's bigger. Anyway, he has a small compound bow, which he shoots fairly well. We were in a archery club. Short of it is I don't have as much time as I did. I started competitive fishing again. needless to say, we don't shoot at the club anymore. I have a high end xbow, compounds, and a recurve. I was thinking of trading them in, and getting us each the same xbows. He loves when we both use the same stuff. He is pretty big for his age. I realize he can't #### the xbow, but he can shoot it! I want him comfortable with it for when he's old enough for his apprentice license. Of course we will shoot excaliburs. I just figure they will be both set up the same, he will feel equal, if anything happens to his bow(he's young) I can fix his with parts from mine, or he can just use mine. I want him to do the hunting! You guys think it's a good move? I think it is! My plan now is to hunt/fish with him as much as I can now. He loves it! He kicked my ass fishing on the wknd! LOL.

Dave.

Excaluburs...you will never need to fix them unless you abuse them.

Have talked to the owner a couple if times, backs his stuff up 100%

As a father, why don't you ask your son what he would like.

I'm sure someone will come along shortly and tell you to buy him an SKS :)

I have an excalibur vortex and think they are great crossbows....check out the ibex model as it has the shortest LOP. They all have the same width of limbs.
