XCR availability

I agree. I think all the nonrestricted black rifles are at least 40-60% too high. But this is our market. The Swiss Arms is not worth $3000 IMO, more like $1600 to $2000. I mean, factor in the price of mags...

I think Armedsask feels threatened by the XCR :p

Ya, maybe the XCR is overpriced, but compare it to other non-restricted black rifles. Besides, since when is cost a top priority for gun nutz. If that were the case we'd all be shooting Norc SKS's. Hey, at least the SKS isn't made out of plastic and sheet metal ;)

I agree the price is too high as well but what do you do? You wanna play you gotta pay. Besides a decent basic AR will cost you at least $1500 and it's range only so that makes its use too limited for me. The only cheaper option is the 180 and I just didn't care for it that much and $3000 is just too much for me especially for something with a vague e.t.a. and possibly after sales support issues.

like I said. you take an AR180B for 1000$ bucks. Put a full length top rail on it (with epoxy or weld it). then put a FF quad rail on it, put an aluminum lower on it, put flip up irons (fron and rear). Now tell me, which one would have more $$ sunk into it, the 180B or XCR?

The AR180B imho is an outdated pile of #### (with the polymer lower)

Robarms is making M4 stocks for them, but they can't ship to Canada. Pretty soon Wolverine Supplies will have folding stock adaptors and maybe M4 stocks.

XCRs are out there. Check with Wolverine Supplies or the Shooting Edge. I agree they are overpriced, but we are Canadian. We're supposed to pay too much. What you get for two thousand bucks is a short, handy, non-restricted (for now), accurate rifle that works with most AR / M16 accessories. These are good guns, although maybe not so proven. I had trouble with mine right out of the box, but it's much better now. I don't love it yet, but I'm not sorry I spent the money.

Thats harsh... But it wasn't intented to the Über tacticool stuff either...

All black rifle over here are priced high, I guess that goes with the name and those import/export matters. 1900$ might bit high for the XCR I bought compared to what they sell in the US, do I regret it ? Hell no ! I've waited for it nearly 6 years to finally have it in my hands.

Don't get me wrong, the original AR18 rocks, but it is outdated in the sense that it doesn't come with quad rails, isn't modular like an AR15, because it never caught on and wasn't enhanced and developed like the AR15. The polymer lower of a 180B just doesn't do it for me.

For me, the xcr is an improvement on the AR15, being piston operated, and quick change barrels (and calibers). sure you can change the caliber of an AR, but you need a whole different upper to do it in a timely manner.

The ar180B in my eyes falls below way below any other 5.56 gun, save the mini14. (but it is still non restricted and a black rifle, that is a big + as well)

A useable AR180B is called the Masada LOL.

Ar180B is not intended to be a high end firearms - it was designed to capture the lower price range of the market like the mini-14. It was made cheap for that particular market.

Exactly, and it's a shame the Canadian market has to mark it up by $500.

I'm actually thinking Canada needs a no frills, bare bones, drag it through the mud .223 semi-auto using Ar15 mags that retails around $500. That would sell like hotcakes.
