Looking for some first hand feedback from guys who have scoped their xcr's and are reloading for them.
What kind of groups are you getting? Any issues with POI changing?
I have been working with a black special target for over a year now and I am just about ready to sell it. POI shifts all the time, and will not group under an inch.

I have never had any troubles making an AR shoot, how are you guys making out with the xcr?

XCR-L in 223 Shot off the hood of my truck fired 3 - 5 seconds between shots scope Leupold VX3 2.5-8X36mm B&C reticle was set on 8X .

I have another target from the other day haven't had time to ake a pic of it though.

Here is a pic of the rifle you tell me how it is even remotely possible for the scope/rings to shift?

Has more to do with the bullet weights in a 1 - 9" twist barrel than anything else plus I shot those groups off the hood of my truck...

Shifting POI is more likely an issue with your optic/mounts than rifle or ammo.

+2.
Additionally, if you are unhappy with the accuracy obtained from your Sig, it is highly unlikely you will be happier with an XCR.

I would look to your optics and mounting. As well, give the bore a good scrub.

How are you shooting it BTW. These rifles are not free floated, and are sensitive to pressure on the handguard. Some more then others.

That said, PM me if you want to sell it. I bet that rifle will shoot.

Ya, it will shoot. If you "bag under the mag". The pressure on the forend (bipod or bag) causes fliers and shifting poi. I can sometimes get a group under an inch, and the next group opens up and is 3 inches away. I thought the xcr's floated design would maybe be of an advantage.

Without any forend pressure, 5 shot groups are .5-1 moa. I haven't shot it enough that way to notice if the poi shifts between sessions or not though. And really, shooting it that way is impractical and the results don't matter in the end.

Why? Prone shooting using the mag as a rest is a common method. Once shooting offhand, the forearm pressure is consistent enough.

If you prefer to shoot off a prepared position, then the heavy ARs are the way to go IMO. For the bucks of a black special, you can pretty much have pick of the litter.

Ya, I think it may be back to the bolt gun for this kid. My "non restricted semi-auto coyote rig" dream seems to be slipping away. If there is still no joy come fall I think I will trade it in on an AR and an xcr compact tactical.

For what it is worth, I bought both Classic Green and the sniper version with the intent of using them for yotes. They worked, but the weight and difficulty in replacing parts that were field damaged/rusted had me switching back to a 700. In between the switch, I tried a variety of semiauto 223s before giving up on the rapid second shot excursion.

The Remington XCR compact tactical would be great IMO. I use an LTR, but would prefer a stainless receiver for rust protection.

Not really apples-to-apples. The trigger on the XCR is horrendously bad and the barrel is pencil thin even behind the gas block (which can't help when you have an op-rod).

It would be interesting to see what the rifle is capable of with a good trigger, a heavy barrel and a gas block that allows for it to be as large as possible underneath. The rifle is a very attractive platform for some custom calibers since its non-restricted and has a variety of different mags and bolt heads that are already in the country.
