Does anyone have the skinny on XCR hammer springs? I bought an older used model that the PO said was originally X39, its now .223. It has the older trigger and the trigger pull is very heavy. I know RA makes a heavier hammer spring for X39 surplus but I don't know if this one has one or the standard spring. I understand AR hammer springs fit but before I run out and buy one has anyone swapped them out? Does an AR spring really fit? Would a reduced power spring like the JP one work? Are AR hammer springs pretty consistent or can spring rates vary? Thanks in advance.

My x39 XCR is a couple years old and the trigger is very nice. I wonder if they changed something between the older versions and mine?

IIRC all the newer ones come with the match trigger as standard but the earlier ones had it available as an upgrade. Not sure when the change was though.
Send an e-mail to sales@wolverinesupplies.com with your serial number and I will see what I can find out for you.

Well Wolverine offered a match trigger for $165 plus ship+tax, wasn't looking for a $200 fix. Tried the bent leg mod on the hammer spring and it worked awesome. Bent the left leg up a bit and cut the right leg off. Its a 2 stage trigger but because the hammer spring was so stiff I would usually pull through the first and second stage all at once. It took a lot of focus and didn't help my shooting. It now has a much lighter first stage, the second stage is very short but a little rough still. I loaded a primed empty case and got a good, solid primer strike but it'll need some range time to tell if its going to work. With some polishing it'll be an excellent 2 stage trigger.
