XCR keymod, ACR NR, Tavor gen 2 shooting...

I shot both an XCR 1:7 against a ACR 1:7 at 100 yards about 6 months ago.

The ACR was slightly better than the XCR

Where I found the ACR was vastly superior to the XCR was in rapid fire. (with 10 round pistol mags)

Both myself and a buddy spent a couple hundred rounds one day shooting as fast as we could trying to stay on target as much as possible.

Mag after mag, the ACR was the clear winner.

Standing about 20 yards from a chest sized plate, we could easily put all rounds on the plate with the ACR while pulling the trigger as fast as we could.

Doing the same with the XCR might have hit about half the time, at best. It just bounced around and walked all over the place.

In the hand and at slow fire, the XCR seems real nice... it's lighter, but when you kick it into high gear, the ACR runs away with it.

One day Id like to bring an NR AR into such a comparison.

Bring your XCR over and I've got the ACR, and Modern Sporter plus an AR180B-2 and three 9mm PCC's to compare to as well, lol.

You would have to ensure all firearms in your test were equipped with the same muzzle device for it to be a real test. I could put my JP competition brake on any and it would feel softer than most rifles with an A2 birdcage regardless of the weight differences.

The ACR in your test felt better because it's a heavier rifle. It's physics, nothing more in this case.

They're all great rifles, they all have different strengths and weaknesses. It all depends on the owners primary type of shooting as to which one is a better rifle.

This thread is asking which is the most accurate at 100 yards so the answer is ACR, unless you're 220, in which case it's XCR :ar15:

I would buy another XCR though if I came across the right deal on a light barrel keymod. I liked my gen one even though I didn't keep it long. That wasn't because of a fault with the rifle, I bought it for the scope that was on it intending to flip it, then almost kept it because I liked it more than I thought I would. I sold it thinking a light barrel keymod would be even better so sold it for a good price for me and the buyer ;)

you missed 5/10 shots from 20 yards away??? were you shooting from the hip???

No, it was standing and from the shoulder... but just shooting as fast as we could while and trying to stay on target while we did it.

We were testing the way the recoil impulse affected the point of aim.

We also tested with and without a sling supported position.

Obviously if we slowed down we could easily put all in an inch at that distance, with either rifle... but that wasn't the point of the exercise.

I have a hard time believing such a large discrepancy between 2 rifles in the same class/category. You happen to have a vid of this test?

We couldn't believe it either so we tried it again a couple weeks later... same result.

We actually wanted the XCR to do better because it's a lighter and handier rifle.

Yes I have video, one day I'll post it on YouTube.

Try it yourself and let us know what you find.
