So on the equipment exchange I've noticed several people wanting to trade out their heavy barrel 223's for the light barrel 223's I was under the impression with the exception of weight, heavy barrel was better.... Anyone have insight on this that I may be missing? Always look forward to the replies from you guys! Thanks a bunch!

XCR-L 223 barrel talk

I've ordered the XCR- L heavy barrel 1in 8 twist. I don't have any experience with either light or heavy, but I've been on this sight everyday since I joined ,and from what I've read , is that the heavy barrels take a few more rnds to heat up other than that and the weight of course , not much diff. I personally think the heavy barrel looks way better, and I'm not concerned with the extra weight.

That's the answer to your question. The heavy barrel makes the XCR quite tipsy up front. The difference in balance between heavy and light barrel XCR is pretty staggering, especially when you toss in keymod of the newer version vs railed older version. It's like holding two entirely different rifles.
