XCR-L .223 light barrel 1:9 twist

It would be great if RA could do a run of 1:8 light profile 18.6" threaded 5.56 barrels. A pinned flash hider is likely no longer required. The flash hider on my S&W AR was not pinned and it was chambered in 5.56.

light barrel 2.0 lbs, inferior accuracy and durability OR heavy barrel 2.8lbs and gym, more accuracy and durability

I have owned a few of both and can tell you the .8 lbs off the nose is a significant difference in the handling of the gun. IMHO, the question you have to ask yourself is if you are bushwacking? If you are shooting off a bench stick to the heavy. If you are hiking with it or lifting the nose consistently go light. The barrel change is so easy having both is definitely an option.

Ya, why were the flash hiders pinned in the first place?
