XCR-L Competition Configuration

I have an xcr-l keymod with a heavy barrel that I got from a local dealer in Ontario. I am really happy with how it shoots. It actually likes cheap AE 55g, which I am pleased with.

The only thing is, I find that that handguard is too short when shooting prone with a bipod. I feel that being able to mount the bipod closer to the muzzle would add some stability.

Has anyone here purchased the competition model (extended forearm)? If so, what do you think of it?

Any idea if the competition model can be had with a heavy barrel, or would the low pro gas block prevent that from working.

Have not tried one myself, but have been looking at them. If you were to do it all again, would you go in the same direction? With out firing the rifle off, my biggest complaint about the XCR is the Buttstock. I am not sure I like the look of it as well it looks like it would fit the shoulder/cheek awkward as cheek plate seems to have limited movement/adjustability. I was really happy with the stock off the ACR, but looks like there will not be a field kit allowing for the convection to 308. I have found a guy in the US (The Lucky Irishman firearms) that makes accessories can make an adaptor to attach the ACR Buttstock, has anyone used he product or bought one of these addaptors? I found his face book page on a goggle search h ttps://www.facebook.com/Lucky-Irishman-Firearms-1436903489961391 and am hoping it will solve my concerns with the Buttstock. May be worth a look if you have not already.

So you don't own an XCR, have never held one and only suggestion is to buy some stuff from the USA as your very first post.............obvious SPAM.

On topic actually, the Competition model is listed with a light contour barrel from the factory, but hopefully Wolverine Supplies could answer that for us since they are the XCR experts and distributors in Canada.

I got the same impression looking at the pictures. I find the grouping from the heavy barrel a bit tighter than the light barrel, which is why I am hesitant to go back to it. I thought of posting this in Wolverine's forum, but didn't considering I bought it from a different dealer. That being said, that dealer gets their guns from wolverine, so maybe it would have been ok.

Sorry guys, look to got off on the wrong foot. Did not mean to offend anyone, I was more looking to get feed back as I don't have a lot of experience as pointed out with the XCR. I see the error of my way however and should have likely started my own post looking for feed back (my bad). Additionally to your point Grove I am new to the form as well as scene and your correct it's my first post, Everyone has to start someplace right?!? I don't see what the big deal is I personally don't like the look of the stock, yes I held one and it did not feel as good as the ACR stock. There are obviously things about the XCR that I like or I would not be considering the 3k on the XCR. I found a guy in the the USA that can help me bring both worlds together. You're right though, it does make me a bit of a Punk as I have not shot one (just have not had access to do so as the range I belong to has an ACR not an XCR to use) so I am trying to get all the info I can before making the investment.

Don't personally export parts, ITAR will mess up your day.

If you've got to play with an ACR I think you've already handled the better rifle.
 
If you have more questions about the ACR and XCR, you would probably be better off starting your own thread.
