Normal from my perspective, they're generous - and I've never had issues on L or M's. Using LAR15 and various polymer mags.

Yes it's perfectly normal. I've never had any negative functional issues related to this. A bonus is that every single mag I've used in my XCR's drops free.

Magazine sizes can vary by quite a bit. Especially metal vs polymer magazines.

Mine is definitely very generous, but it feeds from every mag I have tried and everything drops free. I think they just decided to make it really big because everyone uses Pmags nowadays, much to Robinson's distaste.

I guess could say mine is generous but I haven't had feeding issues, though usually only run pmags. As stated, everything drops free.

If it was tight you'd be pissed that some of your mags don't drop free.
They have to make things like the magwell a little loose to ensure that your rifle will function with all brands of magazines.

If it feeds from all mags ignore it.
