I would like to know what ammo you are use ing for brake in, what is a good round ( factory / reload) for yotes and deer
What range are you shooting out to ex. 6'' at 300 or smaller groups ?
What powders

Thanks

I've answered these kinds of questions way to many times = go here h ttp://68forums.com/forums/forum.php and do some searching you will learn everything you will ever need to know on the 6.8SPC.

Thanks I did ,but I was wanting to know loads shot out of XCR - L 18.6 barrel, the Gun stores around me do not stock 6.8 , so I have to tell them to order in,I was just trying to narrow it down.
Powders so far I have read - AA2460 ,H522 ,R10X
Bullets - 110gr
Factory - Hornady A Max 110

I also hear of guys putting 6.8 into 7.62x39 mags, I would like to know can you also put 223 s into these mags ?

Then I would just order Lar 7.62 x 39 pistol mags

Add Benchmark to the mix. I'm going out tomorrow to see if I've actually dealt with my accuracy issues with mine. It looked like a bad crown, but I won't know till I run it. I also managed to pick up some 120 Gr. Hornady 6.8 ammo, but I can't remember where I got it,Cabelas? Wholesale? One of those two, but I haven't found anymore. We'll see how that works as well.

I found the .223 rounds didn't fit well into the 7.62x39 mags. They fit but were loose, like they might drop out, I did not actually try to fire with them in the mags though.

Thanks , on the XCR forum - 11 rounds of 6.8 will fit in a 7.62 x 39 pistol mag.
6.8forum and XCRforum are excellent for info.

So I went to the range today and with 28 gr. of Benchmark I was just under 1MOA at 100 yd. with 119 gr SPH's, 3 in 1/2 " last 2 for the 1". 120 gr hornady's in around the same grouping. Accubonds are in clusters and over 2". My problem now seems to be my mags, as I had to single load my mags for the best results. Oh, I had touched up my crown as well.

what mags ? I use Pmags in my M no problems.I ordered A2200powder .How do you find the trigger on the XCR - L Someone on here said to check which side the spring inside the mag is on, when it pushes up on the plate.I like BTHP I have a good load for my 300.my friend (with the same 300)shoots my a -max load better in his gun( mine likes my BTHP load) , have to find the load your barrel likes.A good trigger is also a must.Hopefully my L will be here next weeki

I've been running the XCR mags, you can get 6.8 Pmags? I really like the trigger on mine, it's a second gen though, I've heard there were problems with the earlier ones. I've also noticed that the 6.8 seems to be kinda load picky, my 5.56 barrel / bolt doesn't seem to have this problem, mind you, I really only use that set up for prairie rats and 3 gun. Also, as previously noted, my crown was a bit rough, ( In discussion with Alex at Robarm, he indicated that a couple got out with bad crowns so....). All in all though this isn't a varmint gun and the accuracy I'm getting now is what I'd expect and then some. I'll stick with the Sierras and Hornadys for hunting with this rig for now and do a bit more research on the other rounds. On another note, 90 gr. Speers are pretty tight shooting with a similar load, but they're varmint bullets, not so good for Whitetails.

For Pmags I do for 308. Some are using 7.62 x 39 Pmags I think or Lar for 6.8 .They are using pistol mags and are able to load 10 or 11 rounds of 6.8 I am only going by what I heard,When my L gets here ,then I will start with loads, then mags.I am still trying to figure what scope,I hunt/target.What are you using for 5.56 ,I have the barrel kit ordered too.
Break in now they say to set at lower # ers ,my 308 is on # 4 200 rounds so far only 3 ftf, that was 1) lowered gas setting 2) 2 from acs mag no problems with Pmags

thanks for the info
