I just cancelled my kel tec su16fx pre order and ordered an XCR in .223. huge upgrade IMO :D anyways to those of you that have the keymod lightweight version, it appears the rifle only has the one rail along the top. How easy is it to put a bottom rail on? do I have to order the rail from RA?

Ill make sure to post pics when I get this beast of a rifle in a week or so!

If it's weight savings you're after and won't be putting too much pressure on the attached rail the Magpul polymer rails will fit the bill nicely. Honestly most stuff that would break the poly rail sections will harm aluminium irreparably as well.

To answer the question of ease of use, keymod is very easy to add any length of rail section to. You don't have to order a RA specific rail, if they make one at all that is.

Enjoy your rifle :D. If I remember correct you're in PG? If so I may want to fondle a keymod XCR :p.

yes sir I am and cant wait to fondle it myself LOL. I just want a small section of rail to mount a vert grip. maybe a bi-pod too but no more.

I had no idea you were in PG thats badass! where are you located? or are you web only?

thanx! yeah after all the BS with the su16fx it just put me off of anything kel tec. I though for $1200 more ill get a dependable NR .223 rifle built to last (hopefully LOL)

It's definitely built to last. The only problems I've had with XCR are more of pet peeve issues and nothing actually wrong with the rifle, some I've ran for +4000 rounds without hiccup.

Of course with any modern sporting rifle it pays to have parts on hand, order a parts kit in the future, and some extra bolt carrier buffer pads (the type that fit on the newer gen XCR-L bolt).

I'm in PG and already have the xcr-l. Got the su16 not f, also Love it. I'll be at the range on Saturday.

You have no idea how badly I want to clear my calendar and stop selling my personal firearms ;).

ok good to know! the keymod I ordered is supposed to be the newest gen XCR L I assume anyways.

I'm finding it difficult to source keymod compatible parts in Canada. Or anywhere other than Noveske to be honest. I am trying to get a keymod qd attachment for a sling without paying $40 for shipping!
