XCR-l or Tavor?

XCR if you already have an AR and want fairly similar controls and operation ie a shorter learning curve.

If you are willing to put in the time to learn the manual of arms, a Tavor is a great gun. If you continually switch between a normal black rifle platform and a bullpup, and not stick to one, it becomes a pain as when you grab for the grip on a Tavor, you actually go for the buttpad.

If you play action games, the Tavor is not as good if you are required to shoot support side as the empties will go off your face and back into the chamber, causing Type 2 failures. You have to support side shoot more off the center of your chest which is kinda uncomfortable.

I have had both and ended up selling the Tavor.

I like my XCR with the keymod because it feels much lighter. I have the pencil barrel in 223 and a conversion to 762x39. The mags for the 762 are finicky but the gun runs well.

I found the Tavor to be awkward feeling as well as heavy. I also worried about replacement parts.

I like both. I fired both before making my decision a couple of years ago. I went with the Tavor because the quality felt better, and I love the bullpup style.

The learning curve really isn't that bad. Took me about an hour to become comfortable with the placement of all the controls. Been loving it ever since.

Both are great rifles, so the decision will come down purely to personal preference.

Another deciding factor is what you want to do with it. The XCR gives you more hunting options as it's available in .223 and 7x62x39 where as the Tavor is only available in .223/5.56

To me, the XCR is like an overweight AR with $1000 worth of NR tax. The Tavor is not especially light either, but the rear-heavy design feels better up against my shoulder while remaining lighter in the front (feels more balanced), where the XCR hangs more weight forward. Mine was the heavy barrel though, the pencil barrel versions are likely better in this regard. My XCR gave me zero problems, ever.

Between the two I'd probably pick the Tavor, but in reality my XCR was actually replaced with a different bullpup - the FS2000.
