XCR-M accuracy issue

And then when someone gets amazing groups and invites you to the range to prove it is true you conveniently twist your ankle somehow rendering you unfit for a range trip :) honestly that gave me a laugh though.

I'd almost forgotten about that.
Well played sir.

By the way, I didn't believe that guy was getting the groups he claimed either. Even warewolf's claim of 2 moa with Norc from his rifle sounds fishy. Norc is inconsistent junk and I've never seen a rifle shoot better than 4 moa with that crap (I won't even let it close to my rifles). Can't say it's impossible but it is unlikely, you take a rifle know for mediocre accuracy then give it the worst ammo money can buy and the results would be more likely to be in the 4-6 moa range like my buddy's XCR was doing with the case of Norc he bought. Must just be one of those two negatives equals a positive equations.

No, this is not a challenge and I don't care that some of you have never had problems with Norinco ammo. My rifles will never see one round of that junk. None for me equals more for you.

I use the norc stuff and agree with you. It can be hot and the brass can be thin. I have had a few neck breaks with my batch. Scares the hell out of me when the round is going off about an inch away from my face. But I have also had American eagle blow up one of my rifles, so it can be hard to find ammo you trust.

I hear about problems with American Eagle (Federal) maybe once a year and I hear about problems with Norinco ammo at least once every month and sometimes it's as much as once a week. Which would you trust more? I run a lot of handloads through mine as well and every piece of brass is inspected and every powder charge goes across the scale.
I find it funny when I hear people are stockpiling it for their "emergency" ammo for when the zombies or the WROL days but to me, if I was ever thrown into a situation like that Norinco ammo would be the last stuff I would go to. The last thing you need is ammo that patterns like a shotgun or jamming up your rifle with primers that fell out or even worse ruining your rifle with a kaboom.
There have just been way too many reports of problems with that junk for me to ever risk my rifles just to save a couple dollars on ammo. My Ar's are too expensive to risk, I paid premium prices for higher end rifles so why would I cheap out and feed them trash. Would be like buying a Corvette and putting regular unleaded in it. Just wrong and potentially damaging.

Cr5. I just realized I didn't answer your question about pinned muzzle breaks. Neither were pinned. Serial numbers 54xx for first one, 55xx for second.

Glad to hear they traded it for you, hope the new one works better.
The pinned muzzle device was just grasping at straws. It was an -L that had that messed up pin job and I've only heard of it once on here.

Good luck

Wow! That is weird! I've shot mine with Canadian Forces surplus and AE ball ammo. Put 60rds thru it. Leupold VR Patrol scope used. Groups 2" with a flyer at 100m. Hits a gong at 200m 10/10. Can't even think what could be wrong after your self diagnosis and checklist. You sure it wasn't a Mosin you bought? Sorry, couldn't resist!

I have the L but that is totally weird...I'm getting 2" at 100 with surplus maybe a little better with better ammo...I assume you've gone throughout the entire upper? Also is the barrel seated correctly and torqued correctly?
