Picked up my XCR-M on friday and took it to the range today, after 30 rounds the fast stock seized up and could not be adjusted. The guys at CRAFM fixed it for me and turns out the spring for the adjustment screw had jumped out of place in the stock.

Any one else have issues with the fast stock?

Today it turned into a 4 position stock

Rifle shoots fine, stock is pants

By the end of the day it turned in to 2 position stock, its gone back.

In the spirit of "to each their own" I would never begrudge anyone their right to shell out hundreds of dollars in adapters and new stocks never having even tried the original. Nor do I think its silly to buy a whole new rifle just cause it has a new stock (i bought a norinco copy of everything just to compare em to the originals) But in all seriousness, I love the old skeleton stock and wish there were more mods to make in look like a
Para-FAL.

I would prefer ra to send me a adaptor and ar stock rather than replace this stock. I want my rifle to shoot it not look at it, they should have kept the old stock instead of trying to be clever with this new one and fail.

I've heard a few more stories like this one over on the XCRForum.
Makes me kinda glad I went a different direction. I still have to paint the adapter but it's getting there.
You could always buy my ACR stock on the EE and go this way ;)
Hope you get the problem sorted out.

That's not half bad...

Whats the adapter made out of? aluminum?

Alum. billet I believe. A few members over on the XCRForum were tired of waiting for the promised FAST stock to appear, so set about adapting the ACR Enhanced Butt-stock to their XCR-L's.
All the credit goes to a member by the username EZED over there, he completed the whole product from conception to final sales.
The combo is a match made in heaven IMHO, fixes the head position problems of the old factory "Ace" style stock and gives a solid weld.
The biggest plus to this set-up in my eyes is that it helps to off-set the muzzle heavy 18.5" HBAR version that we have here in Canada. The ACR stock added a few ounces of desperately needed counter-weight in the rear.

Great. I sent payment for a FAST stock for my L a few weeks ago. I really hope the this batch is better. If the stock I recieve ends up having any issues, I think I'll probably just ditch the rifle on the EE and get something else. :(

I would cancel the order if you can until they work the bugs out. The stock has some major problems like not locking open. Go on XCR forums and you will see. Man, RA really has a bad habit of releasing unproven products and using their customers as beta testers dont they. I have been thinking about an XCR for a while but, its hard to go with them when they consistantly make boneheaded mistakes and screw their customers over. Like really, who would design a stock for a gun designed for tactical operations and LE/MIL and not make it lock open and closed? Never mind that, who would not make it lock open anyway on any gun? It was designed for a rifle that shoots 7.62Nato too. I really think Alex Robinson had better get his companies act together or I think they will fail. After all, people will only be used as beta testers for so long before they just go with a company that sells things that are properly tested and work the first time. Their rep gets worse every day.

I just hope the rest of the rifle isnt as bad as this airsoft stock

You should have put some loctite on it.

:p

I think they did that at the factory, the first time it failed it seized up so bad it took almost 1 hour to loosen it, then it went to s**t and started to slide with out stopping.

better get my norinco back from sale so i have something to shoot all this 308 ammo

Well, the saving grace is that they have been working the XCR-L's bugs out for a while now and I would assume the XCR-M is similar in design. As you may know, they have had a lot of growing pains with the XCR-L. I still may get an XCR-L but, I'm gonna wait for a while and see what happens. I will not spend almost $3000 on a rifle unless it has most of the bugs worked out. I think I will be safer with a Tavor, Swiss Arms, MR-1, or SL-8 for now. They seem to have far less problems. Then theirs the SCAR if it ever gets an FRT. I do hope they refine it though. It has a nice mix of features: folding stock, LAR-15 compatible, great AR like looks, proven piston design, AR accessory compatibility, full length monolithic top rail, quick change barrels, and of course non-restricted.

The rifle pictured above with the adapter and Bushmaster? stock looks great. The proportions are just about perfect in relation to our big barrel. What is the approx total cost of that mod?

You could just order an AR stock adapter and throw an AR stock on it for now? I personally like the looks of the Dlask one better myself. I hear the Magpul CTR with the extra cheek riser fits nicely.

If you go to XCRForum.com there is a member by the name of EZED selling the adapter for 100$ shipped to Canada. He may have a few left.
You could buy my ACR folding stock in the EE for 165$ and have the same set-up. It is just as strong or stronger than the original set-up, uses the same bolt etc. I've been running it since before Christmas. The ACR enhanced stock is definitely the t$ts for adjustability and I like the storage compartment {for my loc-tite} ;)
There is also a filler-piece available that goes between the grip and bottom of the stock adapter to fill the gap you see, but I think it looks great as is so I didn't bother with it.
The bottom rifle pictured is from a member on XCRForum.
