Does RA specify the number of rounds that need to be fired through the XCR-M before the f'ing brass stops jamming in the god damn chamber?

It's done in now with that Chi-com crap from CanAm, it's done it with factory Federal and it's done it with my Federal and Remington brass handloads.

This time I brought out an old cleaning rod with me to use to bash brass out but I couldn't even do it with my hand... Now I know why the guy I ran into in the bush had a brass rod and a mallet for his XCR-L.

Am I crazy or is this a stupid f'ing problem to be having?

Gas setting?
I doubt the gas setting has anything to do with this... the extractor claw is getting pulled right off the brass. I can see the bottom of the case in the chamber. I close the bolt and it grabs again.... then I can't get it to pull the brass out. It's jammed in there. This has happened numerous times now.

Gas is also fully open because I haven't even fired 200 break-in rounds through it yet

Email Wolverine then, doesn't sound like a problem you can or should try to fix yourself. I haven't had those problems, but I have an XCR-L.

The one I had never displayed that behaviour on any gas setting, at any point in it's break in.
Given robarms rep for qc, I'd have a look at the chamber, odds are that there are a few deep tool marks in there that the brass is "sticking" on.

Ok, I'll take a look at the chamber. Maybe next time I'm out I'll try playing with the gas settings but it doesn't seem like that would be an issue. Who knows.

If you bought it new, send it in for warranty - why should this be YOUR problem? It's a $2500+ rifle and the service you get will likely reflect that and make it all better ;)

Hi Wally,

sorry to hear about your issue, please contact our service department. Phone 204-748-2454 or e-mail sales@wolverinesupplies.com.

I've seen a couple guys with rough chambers on their XCRs that a little polishing solved. Obviously Wolverine is willing to take care of you so let them do the dirty work.

stuck brass

Sounds like wolverine is going to polish the chamber for me. Thanks guys.

Hi there:
it definately sounds like a gas pressure issue to me, I have an XCR-l with no troubles (sorry) but I have an 8mm FN49 and when i first started shooting it, it would pull the extractor right through the brass almost every shot it drove me nuts because i thought i was going to reload for it, but anyways, i did a bit of reading and found the gas setting was cranked way to high and was pulling the case away from the chamber before the pressure subsided and the case shrank, so sure enough i started to dial it down and now it leaves absolutely no mark and throws them in a nice neat little pile just off and to the front of me so that one is easy to try for you give it a go
cheers, Steve
