I am new to shooting and new some help finding appropriate optics for the XCR-M. I was planning on using the gun for hunting big game but also wouldn't mind using it to punch paper. I want to get a nice scope but want to avoid getting too much scope for the rifle. What do you guys think would be the maximum range for this rifle and how much magnification is appropriate for that range? I would like 1x capability with a bright dot but that is not a must. I was thinking of a IOR valdada eliminator 1-10x 26mm, s&b 3-20x 50mm, or a nightforce. Not really sure what to do get and was hoping you guys could provide some input.

I am eventually going to put a Trijicon Accupoint on mine. Variable power, illuminated reticle, no batteries. Seems like a win-win to me. I have an ACOG on another rifle and I love Trijy glass, very clear and very well made.

I'm trying to track down a Nikon M-308 scope for mine. They are not sold in Canada unfortunately, so have to go through an importer. There are rumors the scope will be coming into Canada though. I've currently got a line on a used M-308, so fingers crossed. I'll post pics if i end up getting it.

Its a custom one made to reflect a design I saw on ebay of all places. Loved the look and way it directed gases to be effective.

Only 100 yards so far. The rifle has only been out twice. Each time to sight it in as I first had a Bushnell Elite 6500 2.5-16 then swapped it out to the Bushnell Elite Tactical. At some point I will try it out to 300 yards but it hard to find that kind of distance in BC. Too many darn trees.
