Finally got my new XCR-M .308 to the range today. 18 shots through and the ejector broke and jammed a cartridge in the chamber.

Good thing about it is I called Wanstalls right after and they told me to send it back to them for warranty and they will pay the shipping. I have only had great dealings with Wanstalls and I am extremely happy with them!! Thanks Wanstalls and I will ship it out on Monday.

Just curious, what ammo were you using? What was your gas setting?

Hornady 168gr superformance match BTHP. Gas setting is still + as recommended for the first 200 rounds.

Humm, usually the reason for the ejector breakage is the rounds are being extracted very fast and hard with the open gas setting... especially if they are getting stuck in the chamber. When you get it back you might want to try a lower gas setting...

I usually set my gun for the lowest gas setting that functions... even in the break in period to prevent the gun from being "hammered" with recoil.

just my 2 cents.

Thanks for the info, it was ejecting fine, no jams until the ejector broke... May have to try that when I get it back...

The high setting spits my brass 40 feet away and I could probably hunt ducks if I fired the rifle "gangsta style" :) I lowered the gas setting as much as I could and people like me better at the range now!!

Just call Robinson Arms Canadian importer Wolverine Suppplies and have them fix the problem.
They're a first class outfit and never let down a customer.

Again, call Wolverine Supplies ASAP and they'll fix it for you.
