3 days to my door :D- Thanks Wolverine. Looks a whole lot better than the shorties. I hand cycled 6.8 from these and the micro pistol 10 rounders without issue. The micro 10s only fit 9 of the 7.62 but 10 of the 6.8, no complaints here.

Looks great, I have a couple of questions:
  1. What stock and which grip did you put on your rifle? (I need to upgrade my XCR's look ;))
  2. Do you plan to shoot corrosive ammo in your gun?

Alex

It's a CTR stock with a .5 riser, and a MIAD pistol grip, both from Magpul. You might find someone around here that can get you these products *cough * blaxsun * cough*.

I honestly haven't put any x39 through it yet. I have a few boxes of the Norinco noncorrosive, and some of the Hornady stuff on order, coupled with a pile of reloading components (if my bench ever gets set up) to use. I'll probably save the corrosive stuff for my others, and run non through the XCR.

Thanks for the info, I'll write Mr X about the accessories and will keep on shooting non-corrosive 223 Rem but still fantasize about shooting crates of cheap 7.62x39 ammo in my rifle!

I just ordered some 7.62X39 XCR pistol mags from Wolverine, but was not aware they sold 5-30 rounders as well. Where on the site did you find them and how much

That's a 5/30 rifle magazine. I don't think that any civilian is allowed to own 30 round magazines as they are prohibited devices.

Alex

I edited my post. I realize they are pinned. I just need to know the details on the mag he has pictured as I havent seen one before on the wolverine site. I currently run the 5-10 round metal mags.

I think the 5/30 are pretty new to inventory, it was a post on here from wolverine that i found them. Probably best to call it in (that's what I did). They had some with double drilled spines (oops) that they were letting go for a bit cheaper. Hope this helps.

XCRs have chrome lined barrels(mine does), as long as you clean the gas system(the piston and the gas setting nob), there is no problem. I've shot thousands of corrosive Czech rounds thru mine, it still looks good.
Even if you can't clean it right after shooting, a bit of WD40 can be used as a quick fix.

That is not quite true, there are various ways to have possession and use 30 round magazines legally. (and sound suppressors)

A manufacturers license for example.

OMG!! My 6 month EE suspension is Over!!! I'M in Heaven!!!

Hey Hunter, do you know if you can use the LAR coupler to join the XCR mags?? Also trying to get a recomfirmation from the above post if this mag will fit on the MK114 762 version.

Another happy camper here with 7.62X39 kit for my XCR, must have close to 2 cases of surplus czech through it by now:D. Unless it is very humid out I don't worry about cleaning it immediatly, and have gone several days  without cleaning it. No problem. Don't know what all the fuss is about. You just can't beat cheap ammo for the fun factor!
