I thought i had a XCR coming in the other day for a fixmeup, guy phoned and said he lost some screws on his 223 semi. Turned out he hadn`t tightened all the screw on his scope rings on his Mini14. I was really dissapointed, i was so looking forward to glueing a rifle back together.:D

The really funny part is a guy who fancies himself a gunsmith but doesn't know that neither the XCR nor the mini come in .222

;) :D

My memory was foggy on the subject but a quick search determined I was mostly right and you where way wrong...
Huh? Explain how Im "way wrong"...?? Both your statements were incorrect.

You said mini's come in 222. Find me a new one in Canada.

You said they can be re-chambered in 222. Ignoring the obvious issues like having to drill a new gas port, setting back the chamber would shorten the barrel to prohib status, so you can't.

Explain to me how you were "mostly right"?

I have to agree with matty86suk on this one WW.

The mini's did come in .222, so for that he was correct. As for making it into Canada, we'll have to check the registry....

From a little research, it looks like, provided the barrel is in good shape, a re-chambering can be done. (not sure why you would do it)

as for drilling a new gas port, IIRC, all you would have to do is enlarge it, or replace the gas block with an adjustable one.

You could reach chamber a target version without going prohibited, and minis come in .222, let it go WW, you where wrong, you don't know everything...

Yup. Apparently that title belongs with you ;)

Minis are readily available in .222, and it's reasonable to assume someone took a brand new target model and had it rechambered to .222.

Got it. Thanks for schooling me :)
