Hey guys, recently picked up an XCR, 223 / 6.8 and i've been doing a lot of reading on optics and why some go with a simple red dot, red dot with magnification, small scope, regular scope etc.. I'm just really not to sure what i want, hoping for some more insight here, I will be blasting gophers, coyotes and the like, maybe try it for deer with the 6.8 although it wouldn't be my primary tool for the job. i want something that will allow me to zero in on soemthing 3-400 yards away and still hit it the first time. but due to the style of the tool (prefer that word now-a-days) i think something with a wider field of view or something that allowed '2 eyes open' is necessary. am i best off with a small, 1.5-5 30mm scope or what do you guys think? gotta be somewhat durble also. im not hard on things, but chances are it'll take a few bumps..
