XCR or Tavor

I love my XCR. But it is front heavy with the "Canadian" barrel. Owning one is very satisfying to me, but also points out why I would like to own a Tavor. The bullpup design is superior from a design point of view. The only question is the implementation of that design. Tavor seems comparable to the XCR from a quality control point of view, but the materials on the XCR are way nicer.

As soon as there is a TAR21 with a rail I'll purchase one. It is tough for me to swallow the forced purchase of an optic when I am not interested in it..... just seems like more of a waist of money. As it is this TAR21 idea is gonna cost a bunch - just dont like the Mepro....
Then starts the money game..... mags, optics, and extra ammo..... which I am ok with....
It would be nice if there was an official trigger accessory for a lighter pull.... the 'sticky' may work but it is not IMI/IWI. I think with time we will see some alteration that is intended to lighten the trigger.... it is the growing pains of a mil-spec item that has ended up in the civi world.....

A toy that shoots the same ammo,.just as accurate,..and compatible with lots of AR accessories. I would like to see someone use that in 3 gun and do well.
It's a toy to me because I have to play with it a lot to keep it shooting. I had headspace problems right out of the box, and had to have a new barrel put on. Then once I started to shoot it, everything started to come loose. Eventually I got everything tight and locked, and shooting decent, but it still has the occasional misfire due to soft primer hits. XCR is not a rifle that I will ever trust.
Tavor could definately become one.

So anyway back to original question... Tavor or XCR. Do you want cool-looking, excellent ergonomics and compatible with AR stuff or do you want short, easy handling ugly reliability? Maybe you should save your money until the guns have some history here. Right now everyone who's handled them have opinions, but wow, what a huge variance in how we all feel about them.

Definately what I'm thinking aswell. I would also like this "new" bolt mod so the firing pin is a little less agressive towards soft primers.
For ALL the negative reasons that have been tossed over in these forums I chose to go with a Swiss Arms as my Non-Res 5.56mm. BUT if I had to chose another (and I'm seriosly considering a second) the TAR 21 gets my vote hands down. Sure Rob Arms has great customer service (so I've been told) but when I lay down cash for a rifle I expect it not to have issues out of the box and I've heard WAY to much of that from this company.
A lot of people with their Canadian-compliant XCRS have an issue with the weight that comes with the 18.6" barrel. Having your barrel fluted will make a fairly big difference... I had my 16" heavy fluted, and for me, the difference was quite noticeable. I paid $50 to have mine done, not sure how much it costs there.
