to the XCR owners with multiple caliber kits. I'm wondering how often you find yourself switching calibers or whether you find yourself preferring just one and generally stick to it?

yeah, I'm thinking of getting the x39 model myself...but wonder how many bought into the platform because they could easily swap the cartridge is shoots without having to buy a whole new gun. it's one of the primary attractants for me to this platform. I was most interested in x39 and .223...and now there's .300 black out as well. :)

I have x39 aswell, hopefully soon to be getting. 223 kit. I totally agree with the OP on the attractiveness of multical firearms. When you can fit it all into one case and takes seconds to swap over, what's not to like?

I had both x39 and 5.56/.223 and it was fine to swap.

There was a few things I found kinda of annoying. First was the bolt that holds the barrel and the nutsert they used is gimmicky at best. Second was the optics because both cartridges would shoot different point of aim you need different optics for both.

Theres a couple of other things but I sold the rifle and bought a DD AR15 and a CSA VZ58.

So WIN, WIN !

Whenever I am out of one particular type of ammo, but I also have multiple AR's and multiple caliber uppers for them as well.

When I had an XCR, mine was in 6.8 SPC. Although it is not a common calibre, it is a great one. (A muzzle velocity close to that of .223 with a 110 grain bullet - roughly twice as heavy as a .223) I used the 10 round 7.62x39 ten round pistol mags. I had no reason and saw no need to have other calibres.

I bought separate uppers complete for 556 and 7.62x39. I'm looking to get a 6.8 conversion only kit, that will be changed over mostly for hunting. And I'm also looking for a conversion only kit for my XCR-M , also only changed over for hunting. So, not all that often. However, I have disassembled and removed barrels for cleaning and checking gas systems.

I switch back and forth between my 6.8 and 5.56 fairly frequently (once every 2 or so months)... I love the 6.8, but 5.56 is so much cheaper to shoot.

Always on the 7.62, like the recoil, almost never use the 556. Shoot 556 in the T97.

Next caliber swap is 260 and 338 in DT SRS.

If the barrels weren't so expensive I'd have some input for you. I do wish to get another barrel eventually.

Why buy a conversion kit when you can get whole rifle/ammo kits for less.

Love my XCR in .223. But if I wanted 7.62x39 I'd just buy a cz/vz/sks etc....

i might one day buy a caliber conversion kit , mine is a 7.62x39mm and already have many rifle in 7.62x39mm , it my main caliber in all the rifle i got
