XCR Question

I guess the big question is how well do you shoot now? Mine with iron sights will easily shoot 2.5 to 3 mins if I'm doing my part. I have not tried optics yet, I haven't found one I want to put on it as of yet and I prefer iron sights myself.
The newer versions have a very nice trigger assembly, mine is an older one and it has taken some getting used to to learn to shoot properly.

I got off the phone with Robinson today after chatting with them about the XCR rifle. They claimed that the gun is capable of sub-MOA groups with their optional match grade barrel and suitable match grade ammunition. "Rack Grade" XCR accuracy is quoted at about 1.5 MOA. They are also in the process of developing a folding stock for the rifle which is adjustable for pull to fit people wearing body armor, tactical vests, etc. Trigger pull is factory set at 6 lbs but, according to Robinson, can be easily adjusted to fit the induvidual user.
 
The reason I asked is because I HAD an AR180B2 which shot all over the place. Mind you I didn't do much tinkering. I don't want another BR with poor accuracy. That's what I have my 10.5 AR for!
 
I think part of the issue is the ammo. The barrels are designed for 62 grain, most ammo is 55 grain.

I'm not sure what you are hoping to get out of it, but I can tell you the XCR are supposed to be rated above Sendero lines for accuracy.
IE:

You can find the folding tactical in the same area.

I have owned 2 Senderos over the past 5 yrs, earlier this year I sold one in 300 Ultra Win Mag, I still own one in 300 Win Mag, and I have a VSSF in 308 (it's very similiar). All of these rifles with inexpensive optics can shoot well under 1 MOA with factory boat tail ammo. I fired hand loads with 150 and 168gr boat tail match and get a nice looking coagulated hole at 100yrds. I've used this same rifle shooting F- restricted though my wind calculations were off at 800m my elevation was 1/2 a min.

In my experience Rem 700 line is amazing and can keep up or surpass many other rifles in the industry. I've heard great things from the new trigger system Remington has. I'd love to have the budget to pick up one of these newer tactical XCRs Remington is putting out. I'm sure they can out shoot most of our abilities. Given the alternative of a special made F class rifles, a Blaser, or AW @ prices like 7k to 15k, I'd take the $1000+/- XCR any day of the week.

more accurately than I can shoot, I was just out zero'ing my new scope this pass Sunday, using cheap Fiocchi ammo I was getting 1/4" groupings at 50 yards.
 
I can get 1/4" groups with mine at any time, with any ammo, at any range........if they're 1 round groups. Seriously though, some of you guys are full of s**t :D

At the end of the day given everything said, what would the out-of-the-box accuracy for a standard factory shipped .223/NATO 5.56mm XCR be? at 100 yards and at 50 yards????

Depends on the shooter.

As XCRmonger said, she can do 1 inch groups at 100 yards, so theoretically with practice you probably could too. The rifle is certainly capable of it.

Translate that down to 50 yards, if you are consistent you could cut those 100 yard group sizes in half, or smaller.
 
Mine gets 2.5 " @ 100 yards thereabouts.

It is good enough for the plinking I do with it. Though I would like a new barrel in the future.
