XCR Robinson

Zeddy,
I feel your disappointment, but if you got cash waiting then be ready to call soon as you hear the announcement. I know it's not the ideal situation, but Wolverine Supplies is a reputable vendor and stands behind what they sell. They often have gone above and beyond for their customers. I think the problem is more Robinson Arms, and not John and staff at Wolverine Supplies. John is doing the best that he can with a supplier/producer that is having trouble bringing their (hopefully excellent) product to market. Be patient, be happy, peace dude, we're all in this hobby together.:)

PS. Zed, I want an XCR also, but until then I'll just shot some other guns to pass the time.:runaway:

But he could make the announcement and open it to people on the list for a day or two, to call in and pay up or move on
Besides I have been shooting my other guns and i have a few shot out barrels:)

I wanted one.

I'm probably going to just wait a little bit longer and get a Civvy SCAR-L or Tavor, maybe a Swiss rifle instead.

I might revisit the XCR idea again in a few years, once they have the barrel/calibre options I want ready to go and commonly availiable.

Before they switched to the new site, I could swear they had a price up for the non-xcr model (M96?) in the 875$ range... The XCR will be more $$$ for sure.
I would jump on a M96 for $875.

That not right, Why put your name on a list and wait like a loyal customer if they aren't going to honor it!
They should have asked for a deposit if they were worried about people flaking out.
I have had the money waiting aside for over a year.
This is BS
Have you put any money down? No. All you did was said you'd like one.

No money down, all I have to say is, "Suck it up, Butter cup".

I was never given the option to put money down or I would have done so!

My guess is the price is more than John has intially guessed

Any idea on how much these rifles will be? Roughly. I take it the wait for the 18.6 inchers are to have a non-restricted version. If its non-restricted, where do I send my deposit?

More info on the XCR.

The decision to start the XCR order list from scratch was not taken likely, but after 2 years waiting, people move, e-mail addresses are changed, we could not guarantee calling every one. We knew we might upset a few customers but we believe it the fairest way.

Also the XCRs that we finally recieve may not be exactly what you want due to US State Dept Export Policies. I will not be drawn into a public debate on this issue, but it is a royal pain in the butt that is extremly frustrating.

Pricing: In March 05 we announced a price of $1810 and $2050. We also stated below the price that specifications and prices were provisional. We will do our best to keep the price as low as possible, but I do not have my landed cost yet.

Classification: As the exclusive importer for Robinson Armament we have direct communication with the manufacturer that puts us in the strongest position to get the XCR classified as we want her, for example we have insisted on the 18.6 inch barrel. Other events have forced me to start the process now, I would have prefered to wait until we had the first shipment in stock. More to follow on this.

Deposits: Our company policy is not to take deposits for items where the specifications, price, classification and delivery is uncertain. We don't believe that giving customers false hopes would do anyone any good.

At the Shot Show in 04 Alex showed me a drawing/picture on his palm pilot of an XCR in .308, I was sworn to secrecy, I looked at Alex and ordered 50, I didn't even ask the price or specifications, I have that much confidence in his products. No one has waited longer than me for one of these, and the .308 is still at least a year away.

Thank you all for your patience and understanding.

Can you clarify this comment?

Also, THANK YOU for putting in the effort to bring all this cool stuff into Canada. Your company is one of the Canadian shooting sports' most valuable assets! In spite of all the whining, we appreciate your hard work!
