XCR Rules: Your AR can't do this

Uh oh. It's turned into a pie fight!

It is my scholarly opinion that the AR should not be restricted - and the bungholes responsible for that little judiciary error should by hung from the lamp posts and their rotting corpses used for bayonet practice by laughing black rifle geeks! If you are shooting mice, poodles or Talibangers - the AR is the gun for the job! Being a sporting man, I think the AK's should be de-restricted too. Today's shooting cheapskate is stuck with the CZ and he should have a little variety in his life too.

If I were asked to re-write Canada's gun law, I would humbly suggest that every black rifle geek throughout the land must own at least 5 black rifles, of which only two may be AR's.

I like my XCR. I like AR's. I like AK's.
Can't we all just get along. Its like grade 1 in this thread.

I like the XCR you have there, nice rifle and nice groups, and I own an M4 which I love and shoots very well too, but hey, I pretty much like all rifles either way(Swiss Arms, XCR, CZ858, M14, mini14, etc etc Our Classic Canadian rifles we can buy right now or I'd add a few others to the list G36 and AK lol) ...it's all about who is behind them that is key to how well they shoot anyway. Anyway nice rifle, not sure what you have against a well tuned AR though, they all work and shoot great in the hands of a shooter.
p.s. and remember anything can break or jam, even the high tech G36 or FN SCAR nothing is perfect, things just get better.......hence I love the classic M4 Thanks for the pix and info though my friend, _HAPPY SHOOTING_ glad your happy

The XCR is a great hunting rifle. It handles like a lever action and is lighter than most of your standard bolt actions. If your hunting from a stand, weight does not matter, but if you like to walk with a rifle weight is everything, afaic.

The XCR with a non magnified dot scope is fast and a pleasure to hunt with in this part of Canada.

From the one or two XCR's I handled they are front heavy pigs. If the XCR was a $1300 rifle I would own one, but there is no way it is worth the Canadian price tag to me.

My 858 is twice... no three times the rifle the XCR is. Oh and I thought a norc AR was a smoother feeling action than the XCR. The XCR is the brainchild of an egomaniac and it shows.

so CZ585 > Norc AR > My Nissan that doesn't run > XCR.

Back in 'Nam, we never had the 858 jam on us............

Exactly my point. I have never, under regular military/bush conditions, heard of the CZ jamming. Maybe internet chatter tells you otherwise, then again the internet told me to that a Corvette is a good as a Porsche. L O L.
ARs on the other hand can and have jammed, even while not being fired :yingyang:

Here's something the AR can do that the XCR can't.

Actually having a .308 version. Have we heard any more regarding the XCR-M(ystical)?

A benchpress will take care of that;-) Just kidding. They are a little front heavy but I actually like that. Nevertheless, the XCR weighs a half pound more than a 30-30 winchester and the same as the 858. Hardly a pig.

> If the XCR was a $1300 rifle I would own one, but there is no way it is worth the Canadian >price tag to me.

It is a lot of money no question. If it was restricted I would not have bought it.

>My 858 is twice... no three times the rifle the XCR is. Oh and I thought a norc AR was a >smoother feeling action than the XCR.

If you think the 858 three times the rifle I don't know why you would even consider buying an XCR at $1300.

>The XCR is the brainchild of an egomaniac and it shows.

Hold on there buddy, the guy who invented the enema-administering machine was considered an egomaniac. Alex Robertson is no egomaniac;-)

and from what I understand it wasn't Alex that came up with the XCR-L design but an employee that has moved on to other pastures...

I heard the same thing. But in all fairness, I like the ergonomics of the XCR way more than the AR's I own and I like them. Now that I've changed out the stock adaptor I'm liking the shootability better as well.

*Facepalm*
TNW ar's from marstar have a new quick change system. After properly sighting in my rifle the worst group I've ever gotten was a 4 inch group and thats only because I was getting used to a new rifle; every rifle has its own feel. Properly sighted in and I'm more accustomed to it I can shoot 1.5'' Groups at 100 meters. The only real flaw about AR's is that they are restricted.

XCR means fun close to home for me, an AR requires a drive into the city to use it at the range. Non-restricted classification played a big part for me (although I do own restricted guns too).
