Some of you will think I'm crazy, but having owned and shot both I gotta say that I've chosen the xcr to be the better rifle of the 2 (for me).

I don't really have a singular reason why I like the xcr more. It's just as a whole. It could be from the years of carrying a c7 and just being used to a "traditional" style of rifle compared to a bulpup.

Both rifles have preformed flawlessly and I have no real gripes with either. Maybe because i work with my hands all day, I don't find the 12lb xcr to be heavy and the 12lb tavor trigger defiantly does not hurt my finger like some guys claim it will do. Group size was pretty much the same with the tavor being slightly tighter.

Tavor is the more reliable of the 2 (according to the Internet) but finding parts for it is insane, and yes I called north sylva. The old xcr's were riddled with problems but mine always ran perfect and parts are available from wolverine (I purchased the parts kit j.i.c.)

Anyone else ever finally get their hands on a tavor and after shooting it and testing it come to realize it just wasn't for you? I feel kinda silly buying into all the hype thinking it was the king on the NR rifles (for some it is) but oh we'll. I think I'll be getting a new key-mod heavy barrel xcr soon. Keep an eye out for a cheap tavor on the ee! Haha

You say what?

Heretic!

In all seriousness: if the XCR keymod lightweight units had existed when I was gearing up to drop $2k on a rifle in 2011, I would have very seriously wanted one

This is going to get controversial! I personally own the Tavor and love it to death. I honestly don't know which I'd pick between it and my DDM4, the DD reminds me of my old C7A1 too haha... Never tried the XCR, one day hopefully.

I love my Tavor. I keep telling myself that.

But a couple weeks back a well meaning gun nut loaned me his brand new XCR and I darned near threw the Tavor in the garbage. Those XCR's shoot like a house afire but I'll be damned if I'll buy one. I like the stubbiness of the Tavor and as God is my witness I intend to shoot that damned thing as well as any other service rifle.

It's an ego thing now.

I was on the fence on the two but decided bullpup just wasnt my bag. I love my XCR L keymod. I still want to shoot a tavor but I doubt ill be buying one.

Haha I know I know, but hey I actually own and shoot both s0 I'm not shooting fire outta my a$$, just holes in the ozone with my xcr!
Just don't hit my moon! :D

Hehe... The only thing I dislike about my XCR is the weight. I actually love my guns having weight to them but how the XCR is meant to be used the weight doesn't fit the character.

The new ones are much much lighter.

I read somewhere on cgn that an out of the box XCR keymod weighs 7.2 lbs. I just threw my XCR L keymod heavy barrel on the bathroom scale. with a bottom keymod rail, magpul AFG, two magpul sling attachments and sling, offset iron sights, nikon p223 scope and two loaded LAR mags coupled comes in at 13 lbs!!!!

Nothing wrong with liking what fits you better.
As long as you enjoy it you've made the right choice.

I was the same way with the Tavor, lucky for me I didn't have to buy one. A couple friends of mine have them and I've put quite a few rounds through them and they just don't grab me with the must have bug. I am satisfied just shooting one every once in a while.
I went with the ACR instead of the XCR though.

I dumped my Tavor for an XCR. Waaaaaaaay better fit for me. I felt like I was going to demolish the Tavor every time I shot it.

Demolish? Why would you think that? I understand it just not being a good fit for you for whatever reason but they seem to be pretty well built. I never felt like it would break when I was shooting them.

That's dry weight basically nothing on it....kinda like how they rate vehicles for fuel mileage all the extras add up....I've only shot a Tavor once maybe twice so not enough to have an opinion but I love my XCR-L, feels good in the hands or shooting from the bench, I know people will contest this but I've had very good luck with the groupings outta mine so I'm thoroughly happy with it and always get excited on range day

Qualitywise which one do you think will hold longer?

Considering how many reports I've read on this site with guys XCR's having broken parts before they even get through break in I would say the Tavor will last longer. The good thing is that Wolverine is providing incredible support and it doing a great job taking care of any problems.
