What is your preference, what is more accurate, can a sig take ar15 mags. What is everyones general feeling about either. Thanks

I guess I should add something useful too :D

I really like my XCR. It's decently accurate and so far entirely reliable however I am not a "serious operator". I can't compare the two since I haven't owned a SAN rifle (yet). The Swiss will not take AR mags.

I just bought the XCR. It is cheaper in price and seems to be good value for the dollar. I haven't shot it yet but it seems to be one solid gun. The trigger is the new design match trigger and is just beautiful at around a 4 lbs pull. The only complaint I have with the gun and it wasn't Robinson Arm's fault, was the stock is not a folding stock. They weren't allowed to ship to Canada with it having a folding stock. I don't know how that evolved or the reason behind the madness but somehow the swiss was allowed into the country with a folding stock and not the XCR. Maybe the XCR looked "meaner"?
I also really like the quick caliber change option and I just might buy a 6.8 spc conversion kit.
Did I mention this gun is somewhat heavy? With the 18.6" Hbar, it just seems to me like it wasn't necessary and it would have been a plus to have a light 18.6" barrel instead. I don't mind the heavy barrel though and the gun is still light enough for packing around on foot.
To me, I couldn't justify buying the swiss for another $1000.00 over the price of a XCR. But, I don't think you could go wrong with either rifle.

:)

XCR couldn't be exported from the US with the folding stock. The SAN is not from the US.

I HAD A XCR???? wtf is the big deal other than it is non-RESTRICTED....... Take that one thing away and you have a medoric rifle at best... A stock colt or bushmaster ar 15 is still better than an XCR....Now a SIG CLASSIC GREEN THERES A f**kING RIFLE. The SIG is the best SEMI auto rifle I have ever shot and wouldnt sell mine for anything.

An xcr is a gun that you shoot at the range ....THATS IT PERIOD .... THE SIG IS A RIFLE AN OPERATOR CAN TRUST HIS LIFE WITH ...

Don't listen to the people who have drunk the SAN kool-aid.

They are both good rifles. I'd trust my life to either.

The Sig is, I would say, somewhat better. I would say it is about 1000$ better.

Which means that they are about equal value for the money.

Paul is right. Also don't pay attention to the fact that the sig/san is a serious combat rifle fielded in many theaters, and that some of the advocates of that platform are professional shooters, whereas the XCR is not found in any conflict anywhere in the world, and the only people who recommend it are exclusively weekend shooters with no combat experience.

Also, definitely do not go look up what serious gun users on forums like Lightfighter or M4C have to say, or if you do, ignore their opinions. The XCR is totally on par with the SIG.
