The XCR has an ambidexterous bolt release, which has significantly better ergonomics. Its bolt handle is on the left, not the right, allowing it to be cycled without removing the firearm from a shooting position.
Most small arms on the planet have a right-hand side charging handle. Seems fine.
It takes AR mags.
Until recently, the SIG magazines were functionally superior.
It can be converted to various calibres.
No utility in such a feature. I don\'t understand why it\'s even brought up.
It has an adjustable gas system.
The SIG\'s gas system is precisely regulated by the careful mechanical timing and the geometry of gas channel in the piston. It delivers an optimal amount of gas for operation without the risk of running the gun on an improper setting. This makes it a much smarter and simple system, superior by design. And it does give the shooter an emergency setting to use with extreme fouling.
It has a monolithic pic rail upper.
The SIG can be railed.
and... yes it is being used by LEO\'s and by some operators in the sandbox (private security contractors).
No sources provided, so I\'m going to assume that\'s not true.
