just wondering if I was to remove the factory flash hider on my keymod xcr 223, what would the drawbacks be? obviously the flash but what about accuracy and barrell rise? I would be capping it of course so the crown is protected. This is all in theroy ATM no plans to do this but it would be strictly for the looks.

If you have a flash hider, I don't think you'll find much difference in muzzle rise. It'll be minimal.
Mine has a brake and I've run ~300 rounds without it. The difference again, is minimal. It feels similar to running with the gas on 3 or 4. I should mention mine is x39.
I like that it's 1.4" shorter, but function rules.
Take it off and shoot at dusk, you'll see the difference. Bonus for pictures.
