Alex and I have been working on the idea of getting some XCRs in 6.8 as well as some 6.8 conversion kits over to you guys in Canada. Now, our friends at Wolverine Supplies said they will be happy to purchase some, provided we can pull it off. 6.8 shouldn't have any trouble clearing our State Department
, so here's the skinny.
We have a vendor working on some 18.6" barrels. They have to make the blanks, then we have to turn them, have them chromed, grind them, etc. It's a long process, but we can get it done.
Now, I need to know if you guys would want them. I get PMs and emails all the time - but how does the majority feel about the caliber?
Is ammo readily available?
Some more FAQs-
When is the new stock going to be done? Can you ship it to us?
A: It's in development. We're down to two main design ideas. After some tweaking, testing, and deciding it will be done. IF the state department will allow it, we will be happy to ship them to Canada. that's a big IF... they tend to treat us firearms manufacturers - especially those of us who make eeeevil black rifles - like a sack of garbage that needs to be set outside...
When is the new trigger going to be done? Will we be able to get some?
The trigger is about done in development. Alex told me the design is just about where they want it. If it holds up well in our torture testing, it will be complete and go into production. This isn't an instant process either. Parts have to be machined, refined, heat treated, and then finished. however, once they are available I can't see any reason why the state department wouldn't let us ship kits over there. It's unlikely we will be able to ship to individuals - so kits will be shipped to Wolverine. We won't be breaking your wallets on these. They will be quite affordable. Keep an eye out on the xcr forum and robarm.com for updates.
The .308!? Is it coming!?
A: Yes, it's coming. The engineers have been ordered to work full time on this project. The design is coming along nicely, and if all goes well and testing goes well, it will be in production verrrry soon. We will of course be shipping some to Canada.... STATE DEPARTMENT WILLING
that about covers it.. let me know what you think, and if you have any other questions you can PM me, send me an email, or... call. Though I won't be at my desk... Too busy making boom sticks.
BTW,
We did ship out 45 more of our lovelies to Wolverine today. If you have one on order and it's due the "next" batch, keep in touch with Wolverine.
