I'll be passing on these, until there's more reviews about functioning and reliability.

This is my reaction too. I heard someone who saw one at the SHOT show and was unimpressed with the fit and finish and I've read about some issues with reliability BUT that could have been early models, as this was about a year ago when I first looked at them.

I love the idea and the look and the way it bypasses the whole restricted list problem but gives us a good looking, railed black rifle option that is non-restricted... not that I think that will last that long.

I want to see some range reports before I bin my AR15 for one of these...

Is the lower poly or forged? Hard to tell from the pics. If its poly, forget it.

Actually, all the reviews I've read in AR.com, are nothing but praise for the XCR, minus couple of minor issues for the initial production model, which all the owners of this rifle agrees has been worked out. I bet it will only get better as the production works out all the bugs, and when they can produce in projected volume, the price would surely go down as well.
