xd v.s. m&p

The only time that has happened to me, my thumb was creeping up and resting on the slide-release. If you're careful with your thumb the problem will most likely go away.

IF you have short thumbs like I do, it's not a problem:D , If you want I can trim a bit of the ends for you:runaway:

on another note, as to wether its springfield or the importer, no one in the states has issues with springfield's service that I've ever heard of, the time I delt with them direct they mailed the part I needed to me. On the other hand I've heard of no one who has ever had good dealings with the candaian rep in any way and been warned off them repeatedly........

I'm loving the reviews on these M&P's. I molested a 9mm today and was quite impressed. I think this just moved to the top of my list. I'm also interested in getting my grubby little mitts on one in .45, when they get here.

The grips were a bit 'slick' but no more so than the Glock's. They seem to be a bit slimmer overall than either the Glocks and XD's too. I like that.

Same here. One of my 1911 mags was sticking badly in the mag well (a little fat ;) ). They sent me a new one right to my door and said keep the fat one :) (which still worked great in my Norinco ;) ).

I just said what my experience was and it was good and I got replacement parts from them. The parts you are talking about may be different, I had problems with the followers on a couple of magazines and they sent me new magazines over the phone without me sending them anything back so I thought that was excellent service, so I have had not one issue with Springfield only the Canadian Importer who would not accept the magazines from Springfield - which is why I had to send them to my Uncle in the US.

Fine fair enough, except when I spoke to Springfield they will not release individual parts for the gun. Period. Full stop.
Mags are mags, you can get them anywhere. Clearly there is no real control on them as there is on the rest of the parts. The XD mags are great in my experience, as are the pistols (remember I have 2 of them).
Unless Springfield have an about turn on their pistol parts release policy, when (not if) your pistol breaks, you will be forced to:
A)beg, borrow, grovel from your local distributor/gun shop in the hopes they can land the part for your gun.
B)Send back to Springfield for repair and eat the #### sandwich in shipping fees.
C) Stuff your broken pistol in the back of the safe and shoot a Glock until s**tfield change their f**ked up parts policy.

I have chosen C.
G17 from Police Ordnance (Joe Winkler rocks!!:dancingbanana: ), and a bag of Glock inards for $40 means the XD-9 could conceavably spend a fair chunk of time back there.

Watch out for the M & P 10 round mags - they lick ass. Get pinned regular capacity ones if you can source them.....
