After 7 months + 2 weeks for paperwork I finally got my XD40. I got out to the range twice with it and I'm pretty impressed. With the handling anyway. My first 100 loads were mild loads with HP-38 and they (or I) shot much better than my 1911. However my next 100 were max loads with HP-38 and I couldn't shoot worth a darn with it. Oh well I guess working up loads is half the fun of a new gun. Overall though I'm very pleased with it. The trigger has a lot of take up before it engages but it is pretty crisp once it does. The grip is great although quite a change from my single stack 1911. TC

trky chsr, I really like the XD pistols but I am no fan of the 40 S&W. If I saw a 9mm, 45GAP, or 45acp, at the right price, I would be all over it. Yes, I am sorry I did not buy the earlier 9mm version when they were $250 (US). Regards, Richard:D
