XD9 ... Barrel gap whrn slide back

Hello GunNutz community

Just purchase a new Springfield XD9 last week ...
gun is really nice and comfortable, can wait to
but some ammo in this baby ...

I have inspect the gun for function and notice that the barrel is moving a little ( 1/8 inch ) when the slide is in the back position ( rack and lock )

Is this normal ?

yup

my XD45 does the same thing

it's a duty/combat/service pistol, it can't be tight otherwise it will be prone to jamming if it's dropped and crud get's on it, into it, etc....the tolerances are less to allow for better performance in the field under adverse conditions

Normal - It locks up when CLOSED, not when open.
