XDM 9mm

I do, love it:) They are overpriced but are very well built. Take down takes about 5 seconds. As accurate anything else I've shot. Spare mags are expensive IF you can find them, and good luck with that. They can use Sig sights so upgraded sites are widely available if you want to. The only upgrades I've done was to add weight to the front end and to paint the white dot sites with flourescent craft paint. There are solid guide pins available but again, pricey and hard to find. The factory guide rod is hollow, so you can get a piece of 1/4" brass rod and slug it in there. Made a big difference to mine as far as muzzzle flip and balance.

Hope that helps

For my money...

I have to say that I am not a fan of the XD, XDM or any of that line. The XD line that SpringField Armory brings in from Croatia is just standard stuff. Nothing exciting except that it would compete with other similar guns.
The XD's/XDM's have a grip safety that you don't really need, and the guns sit way too high in your hand. And talk about price!
For my money, the S&W M&P 9mm is just about the best value in the market, and the gun is an outstanding design. Smith & Wesson has sold hundreds of thousands of this gun. Companies are making all kinds of accessories for this gun including trigger kits, sights, and even aftermarket barrels.
Close to the M&P price and next in line is the very good Glock 17. Another outstanding design. Name an accessory for this gun and someone makes it.

Personally, I found that the XDM's grip just wouldn't sit still in my hand. I had to re-grip it every single shot because it moved in my hand on every shot.

I have an XDm 9 and I like it a lot. After about 3000 rounds I have yet to have a malfunction. It's accurate enough and has a nice grip. The trigger gets some getting used to in my opinion, but then again most striker fired triggers (in my opinion) are mostly kinda crappy.

Pricing is a little high, but you can get lucky from time to time from retailers. I've seen XDM9s go for as low as $749.99.

Mags are hard to find because you can't use XD 9 mags. Because they're hard to find they can also be pretty pricey ($60-$50). It's also depressing to see a 19 round factor mag pinned to 10....

XDs and XDMs aren't as popular up here as they are down south so finding aftermarket parts is harder and they tend to be more expensive compared to Glocks and M&Ps. I'm managed to get myself a PRP drop in trigger kit on the way (very excited for this), and I do want to replace the front sight with a fibre optic (they can take Sig sights) and MAYBE the rear sight. Thinking about throwing on some of those XDM grip tapes, but not a necessity right now.

The holster and mag holster you get with the gun are pretty neat inclusions if you don't want to spend extra cash on them at the moment. They're not awesome, but they get the job done. I really like the pistol case though, I replaced the cut out foam with regular accoustic foam so I can use it as a regular case. Can fit 3 guns in it!

No plans on getting rid of my XDm!

If you dont like the grip, pachymar makes a slip on rubber grip that I grabbed, made alot of difference. Also, people will tell you that changing the grip inserts. Its beyond easy, use a finishing nail, put the head aginst the pin and smack the pointy end, pin will be pushed out about half way, grab with plier and pull, takes about a minute, five the first time lol

Have an XDM 5.25 in 9mm. Love it. I shoot way better with it than with any gun. Never had a hiccup but it only has probably 2000 rounds through.

Buy with confidence!

Id also get a S&W MP.

Saskatoon gun works has mags for the XDM. Give them a call.

I have XDM 9 and love it. I was deciding between the common polymers Glock, M&P and the XDM was brought to my attention.

Didn't like the feel of the Glock in my hands (gen4) tried and different interchangable grips. Its shot well but just kept readjusting my grip, it felt awkward for me.

I felt the M&P had a nice grip just a little too long interms of horizontal in the direction of the barrel.

The XDM felt perfect in my hands kinda like a 1911. Shot well. seemed to be the best of the 3 interms of build quality. A bit pricey i guess, $780 ($850 stainless). however you do get extras (as in the MP range kit just no upla loader). And the case impressed me, its not made of any cheapo plastic. Its teh nicest i have seen to have come with a purchase. Mags were hard to find but i did get some throught a dealer in Canada ($55). As for Aftermarket parts, so far just seems from a handfull of vendors across the boarder.

I really like the Xdm, put over 2500 rounds so far and not one hiccup. And getting better everyday with it!
