Xlr 30-30 mounts

Anyone suggest nice scope mount for marlin xlr?
Also, anyone use the lever evolution in one of these?

Warne 1 piece mount, keeps it low.
The Lever Evolution rounds shoot very accurate in the XLR, I'm just not a fan of the bullet. It opens up pretty good at close range.

Thanks I will look for one. I had a 336ss with the shorter bbl and micro groove. The lever evolution had a way different poi compared to federal or power points. After zeroing (patterning), I realized it was about an 8" group on a warm bbl.
let it cool, which took forever and it woul be 2" poi from poa for maybe 2 rounds.

Yup the Warne mount and id give the LVR ammo a try again in the XLR as it was designed for that gun not the short barrels. If still no luck then id use a 170gr variety as that is what mine liked(hand loads mind you)

How many shots do you get in before bbl heat makes it wander?
My old one wouldn't do the whole magazine, without wandering off the paper.

That'll depend on the gun. sounds like your last one was a dud. I only did 3 shot groups or went crazy with offhand shooting so i cant really comment on that

For a hunting rifle, it is unrealistic to expect the barrel not to heat up from multiple shots. My 336 Texan gives me bolt action accuracy with 160 gr L.E. Ammo.
