Well sold off my mdt tac 21 chassis from my rem 700 SA build. I really liked it but found it a little bulky and heavy but also found it very user friendly, adaptable and for the people who want cool factor it has that to.

I am asking for people who have the xlr chassis or have seen it to share some light on it. I really like the design and seems close to my mdt tac 21 setup but with some better features such as smaller lighter forerail, easier to remove bolt, stock looks lighter compared to magpul prs and a few others

I am leaning towards it and its 8 week waiting period

Just wanted to get some more insights from all you guys/gals first

Cheers

I will be able to give you a decent review next week as mine ships out from CO tomorrow. I got the Carbon version which is a bit lighter than their standard version, this may appeal to you if you found your Tac 21 heavy.
Kyle at XLR is a great guy to deal with as well.

Mine shipped out last week. I'm not sure what the border crossing will be like, but I'll let you all know.
Looking forward to giving it an indepth review.

They are excellent chassis systems! I have had two so far and am looking at the carbon as my third. Get the tactical stock with the new folder system if you are going to get one;) They are at 4lbs for the complete system including the stock plus extras (folder/rails), how much was the tac 21 with the stock?

This is wat it weighed with fully dressed

Any idea roughly if I will be saving some weight

I think it was roughly 6-7 pounds with the prs stock and grip( no barrel action scope etc)

Might save yourself 2-3lbs with the regular XLR chassis and another 7oz with the Carbon Chassis- Your 700 was a nice looking rig:D

I have been shooting my XLR now for almost two years. I like it fine. Lots of adjust-ability, seems rugged enough for my use, punching paper. I have a Savage action in mine, the only drawback I found with the chassis, is when you want to take everything off/apart for a thorough cleaning... lots of screws. Also, with my set up, I have the tactical stock, and I have the butt pad elevated, so when I go to clean, I have to unscrew the butt pad and drop it out of the way to get the cleaning rod in to the chamber /bore guide. I also had the cheekpiece modified so I could get behind the scope better - easy MOD cut and bent by a machinist friend. You can't see it in the photo, but had the piece cut in half basically and bent in to create a tighter radius, now only attached on one side of the butt stock.

Here's mine in .260 Remington Shilen 30" barrel. topped with a Sightron SIII 6-24x50 LRMD. Not the best photo, but I have been working on shooting not my photography.

Yes mine and its 42 acres with 17 acres cleared for hay. In the frills with the back stop I can get out to 200 yards. This is the east end of the lake ad I can stretch it out accrues safely to probably 2000m. Only have ever tried for 800 the. Ran out of adjustment and doping got a little much after haha. Little piece if paradise

My only issue with mine is removing the bolt for cleaning with the tactical butt stock. As stated earlier, lots of screws!

Between my Tac21 and my XLR, my favorite is the XLR.
