DPMS makes one that either slips over the barrel (making a 16" or 14.5" look shorter) or or one that extends over but without the 'baffles' that makes the actual XM177 flash hider illegal.
Now I asked Brownells if they could export them, and the answer was no, but any dealer that carries DPMS products should be able to get a hold of one for you.
You can try Wolverine Supplies, or One Shot Tactical; both site sponsors up top! See if they can get a hold of one for you (as they do import stuff regularly). If not then Canadian Tactical Cowboy Supplies (also a sponsor) may be able to get one for you.
The DPMS part number for the EXTENDED one is: BL20
